Southern New Hampshire

Painting in Concord, Manchester & Southern NH

Legacy Brushworks Company LLC is owner-operated by Gary Debreceni, a painter with 25 years of trade experience and deep New England roots. From our shop at 24 Michael St in Manchester, we paint homes and businesses across Southern New Hampshire. Small rooms, whole-home interiors, exterior recasts, and commercial refresh work are all welcome.

Free estimates run 7 days a week, 8 AM–7 PM. Complimentary color consultations, Lead-Safe Certified work on qualifying older homes, and a 3-year quality guarantee are part of how we work—not extras you have to ask for.

Services

Painting Services for Homes and Businesses in Southern New Hampshire

Legacy Brushworks provides painting, surface preparation, restoration, and related services for residential and commercial properties. The list below is the work we actually do—not a catalog of add-ons we farm out.

Finished interior painting in an open living area

Interior Painting

Rooms that look tired, scuffed, or dated do not always need renovation. Interior painting covers walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and other finished surfaces. We protect floors and furnishings, repair small surface issues, and cut clean lines so the room looks finished, not rushed. Complimentary color guidance helps you pick finishes that work in your lighting.

Finished exterior painting on a New Hampshire home

Exterior Painting

New Hampshire weather is hard on siding and trim. Moisture, freeze-thaw, and sun fade paint and open the door to peeling. Exterior painting starts with preparation—cleaning, scraping, and priming where it is needed—so the new coat can protect the building, not just change the color. We schedule exterior work around temperature and moisture, not a calendar date that ignores the weather.

Commercial Painting

Offices, retail spaces, rental units, and other business properties need paint that looks professional and can be scheduled around the people who use the building. We work with property owners, managers, and business owners on interior and exterior commercial painting. The estimate is still in person, and the scope is written clearly so you know what is included.

Cabinet Refinishing

Replacing cabinets is not the only way to update a kitchen. Refinishing the boxes and doors you already have can change the look of the room with far less disruption. The work depends on cleaning, sanding, and a durable coating—not a thin coat over grease. The result should look even, feel solid, and hold up to daily use.

Drywall Repair

Nail holes, cracks, dents, and patched areas telegraph through new paint if they are ignored. Drywall repair before painting is how those marks disappear instead of showing up in raking light. We patch, sand, and blend damaged areas so the wall is ready for primer and paint, whether you need a few spots or a larger repair.

Wallpaper Removal

Outdated wallpaper and leftover adhesive keep walls from taking paint evenly. Removal is slow, careful work: strip the paper, clean the residue, and repair the surface underneath. Once the wall is sound, it can be primed and painted so the room no longer looks like a cover-up.

Deck & Fence Staining

Outdoor wood takes moisture and UV every season. Staining decks and fences is about protection as much as appearance—cleaning the boards, applying stain evenly, and helping the wood shed water instead of soaking it up. Gray, thirsty wood and faded fences are typical starting points.

Power Washing

Dirt, mildew, and oxidation sit on siding, decks, and fences and get in the way of new coatings. Power washing is often the first step before exterior paint or stain, and it can also restore appearance on its own. Pressure is matched to the surface. Not every material wants the same setting, and we do not treat vinyl, wood, and trim as if they are identical.

Lead-Safe Certified Painting

Many older New Hampshire homes still have painted surfaces that may contain lead-based paint. Lead-Safe Certified practices matter on those projects: containment, careful prep, and thorough cleanup. We do not diagnose medical risk. We do follow certified procedures on qualifying older properties so the painting work is done the right way.

Why Property Owners Choose Us

Why Southern New Hampshire Property Owners Choose Legacy Brushworks

You are hiring a painter, not a call center. Gary Debreceni owns the company, walks the estimate, and stands behind the finished work.

25 Years of Painting Experience

Gary brings 25 years of trade experience to every project. That background covers painting and related building work, including time with family-owned shops and the Boston Painters Union. Experience shows up in how prep is planned, how older wood is treated, and how New England weather is factored into the schedule.

Owner-Operated Service

Legacy Brushworks is a local, owner-operated painting company. You talk with Gary about the scope, the products, and the timing. There is no handoff to a salesperson who will not be on the job. That keeps communication short and the work accountable.

3-Year Quality Guarantee

Workmanship is backed by a 3-year quality guarantee at no extra cost. We walk the finished project with you before we call it complete. If something in the workmanship needs attention during that guarantee period, you have a direct number to call.

Complimentary Color Consultation

Paint chips in a store and paint on your wall are not the same thing. We bring swatches to the property so you can see options in the actual light—north rooms, south rooms, and evening lamps included. We stay with the process until you are comfortable with the selection.

Lead-Safe Certified

Older homes in Manchester, Concord, Nashua, Derry, and nearby towns often need more than a fresh coat. Lead-Safe Certified practices apply on qualifying older properties. Mention the age of the house when you request an estimate so the approach can be planned correctly.

Clean and Respectful Worksites

Preparation includes protecting floors, furniture, and landscaping as the job requires. We keep the work area organized during the project and clean up materials and debris before we leave. A painting job should not leave your home looking like a shop.

1

Request Your Free Estimate

Call, email, or use the estimate form. Free in-person estimates are available 7 days a week, 8 AM–7 PM. Tell us the property address, the surfaces you want painted, and any timing constraints.

2

Review the Project

Gary walks the property with you. We look at the actual surfaces—not photos alone—so prep, product, and schedule match the house or building in front of us. You get a written scope, not a vague range.

3

Discuss Colors, Surfaces and Preparation

Complimentary color swatches come to the site. We talk through sheen, primer, repairs, and what has to happen before paint goes on. If drywall, wallpaper, washing, or lead-safe methods are part of the job, that is decided here.

4

Complete the Painting Work

Prep first, then paint. Floors and furnishings are protected. Products are chosen for the surface and for New England weather. The jobsite stays organized, and you know who to call if a question comes up mid-project.

5

Final Review and Cleanup

Every project includes a final walkthrough. We review the finished work together, clean the work areas, and leave the 3-year quality guarantee in place. The job is not complete until that review happens.

When Is It Time to Repaint Your Home?

Paint does not fail on a fixed calendar. It fails when the surface starts telling you. Common signs include peeling or bubbling paint, hairline cracking, faded color on the sunny side of the house, scuffed or stained interior walls, colors that no longer fit the room, and weathered or exposed wood on decks, fences, and trim. Interiors often get painted because life happened—kids, pets, furniture moves, or a kitchen that still looks like the previous owner. Exteriors get painted because New Hampshire winters and summer sun have done their work.

If you are unsure, an in-person look is more useful than a guess from the road. We can tell you whether you need a full recast, a side of the house, or a few rooms, and we will not pad the scope to make the job larger than it is.

Why Proper Surface Preparation Matters

A paint film is only as good as what sits underneath it. Proper preparation usually includes cleaning, sanding where the existing coating is unsound, repairing damaged drywall or wood, filling cracks and holes, protecting adjacent surfaces, and priming bare or stained areas. Skip those steps and you get peeling, flashing, and lines that never quite hide. Take them seriously and the new paint has a chance to last.

Prep is also where older New England homes show their age—layered coatings, hairline plaster cracks, and moisture stains. Those issues get discussed at the estimate so they are in the price, not discovered halfway through the job. Read more in our painting guides.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Painting Services

Kitchen cabinet refinishing by Legacy Brushworks
Do you provide free painting estimates?

Yes. Free in-person estimates are available 7 days a week, 8 AM–7 PM. Gary Debreceni walks the property, reviews the surfaces, and provides a written scope. You can request a time through the estimate form, by email at pros@legacybrushworks.com, or by calling (351) 215-0110.

What areas of New Hampshire do you serve?

We serve Manchester, Concord, Nashua, Bedford, Goffstown, Hooksett, Londonderry, Derry, Merrimack, Salem, Hudson, and Bow, plus nearby Southern New Hampshire communities when the job fits our radius. The company address is 24 Michael St, Manchester, NH 03104. If you are outside those towns, contact us with the address and we will confirm.

Do you handle both interior and exterior painting?

Yes. Interior painting covers walls, ceilings, trim, and doors. Exterior painting covers siding, trim, and related outdoor surfaces, scheduled around weather. Many homeowners combine both, or pair painting with cabinet refinishing, drywall repair, or power washing.

Can you help me choose paint colors?

Yes. Complimentary color consultations happen at the property so you can see swatches in your actual lighting. We help you compare options until you are happy with the selection. We also advise on sheen and product type for the surface and for New England climate—not a one-sheen-fits-all recommendation.

Do you paint commercial properties?

Yes. We paint offices, commercial interiors and exteriors, and other business properties for owners and property managers. Scheduling is discussed at the estimate so the work can fit around tenants and operating hours as much as the project allows. See commercial painting.

Can you repair drywall before painting?

Yes. Nail holes, cracks, dents, and damaged areas should be repaired before primer and paint, or they will show. Drywall repair can be a standalone visit or part of an interior painting scope. Read more on our drywall repair page.

Do you work on older homes?

Yes. Older New England homes are a regular part of our work. We are Lead-Safe Certified for qualifying projects and used to wood exteriors, layered coatings, and the prep those houses need. Mention the age of the home when you request an estimate. Details are on our lead-safe painting page.

How often should exterior paint be refreshed in New Hampshire?

There is no single year count that fits every house. Sun exposure, moisture, siding type, and how well the last job was prepped all matter. Peeling, widespread fading, or bare wood are clearer signals than a number on a calendar. We look at the house and tell you whether it needs paint now, later, or only on the weathered sides. Our seasonal exterior painting guide covers timing.
